Smoke Alarm Help

Choose your smoke alarm brand below then click on the orange tab for help with those alarms.

If the alarm you have isn’t visible below, then follow these universal steps

1. Identify which alarm is setting them off by locating the one flashing red rapidly (please note they all flash red occasionally but you are looking for one flashing red flat out and looks different to the others that are also sounding)

2. Get a vacuum cleaner, put a brush on the end of the pole and vacuum around the alarm to suck out whatever contaminant is causing it. If you don’t have a vacuum cleaner then use whatever method you have to shift air through the device – such as a hairdryer, leaf blower or the like, or turn on fans, open windows or wave a piece of cardboard at it – anything to clear the air in the sensing chamber of the alarm.

3. Clear the area of any steam, dust or airborne particles that may be setting the alarm off and causing the others to sound.

4. If you have a wall controller hit the locate button first to find the one setting them off, before hitting silence, then follow the same procedure above.
