Smoke Alarms Sunshine Coast QLD
The Queensland governments smoke alarm legislation details where and how many alarms are located in your home. The number of alarms that you are required to have in your home depends on its size, layout, number of stories and number of bedrooms. That is why it is important to understand what is required specifically for your home. All new private homes, townhouses and units will require hardwired photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms as of January 1st 2017. If a hardwired smoke alarm cannot be installed, non-removable 10-year battery smoke alarms can be installed instead.
