Do I Need To upgrade My Smoke Alarms?

  • Ensure your smoke alarms are less than 10 years old
  • Check for the photoelectric symbol on your alarms
  • Install alarms in every bedroom, outside sleeping areas, and on each level
  • Check if alarms are placed on ceilings, at least 300mm from walls or light fittings
  • Check if your alarms are interconnected so all sound when one is triggered
